First - it shows Inverter Off and AC load when there are none. These boxes shouldn’t be visible at all. In System setup - position of AC load should be option of no AC loads present.
Fourth - there should be red consumption bars in the same graph. DC system is enabled and battery measures current correctly and reports back to Cerbo via BMS-Can.
Fifth - when the VRM graph is switched to consumption, the consumed DC energy should be divided correctly between Solar and Alternator.
Sixth - battery box in case of managed Lithium batteries in GUI and VRM should be reporting time-to-go similar to how it used to be with Lead Acid batteries and BMV… this feature is really being missed
Totally agree! We have been asking Victron for updates to VRM portal for YEARS now but all forum posts have gone unanswered. It’s ludicrous they sell a Smartshunt with VE direct connection to Cerbo, which has a DC energy meter and claim that it can be displayed in the VRM portal but then it doesn’t. in ANY of the DC meter modes. DC systems are horribiy unsupported.
Would love to see VRM dashboard tiles for more DC devices covered in the Smartshunt DC meter menu such as Alternator, Generator, DC/DC charger and Wind Turbine.
We should at least have the option to hide AC in/out and inverter status in a DC only system. This is one of the main reasons I’m still running the GUI version 1 with Guimods.
I have commented on this elsewhere, same issue, we have telecom sites that are DC only no need for AC. I too have asked for a DC only panel and get nothing. Very sad for such a good piece of great as the Victron devices. We try to use them in all of these telecom sites, but sure would like to be able to turn off the ac icons and have a clean screen. Causes a lot of questions which I have to reply with do not pay it any attention.
there are check boxes for doing all kinds of other stuff, I find it frustrating that a coder cannot add one to turn those icones off for a nice clean screen for those of us who are DC only users.
But you can do it yourself.
I’ve just tested it now in gui-v1, because I don’t like gui-v2.
But I suppose the process is quite the same. Gui-v2 also contains qml files and you may need to recompile some wasm…
Define a boolean DBus variable (eg. showInverter) that can be true or false.
Import that path in the corresponding qml file.
Place a few “visible” property statements on relevant IDs (eg. “visible: showInverter”)
Et voila. Show or hide the inverter, ac-loads and their (animated) connections.
There are so many who need this mod, can you package it up or give some more in depth description of how to do it. I am no coder, but I can copy and paste and do mods to the code once I see how it flows. (I think) We are all wishing that the devs would listen to us, we are small systems but there are a lot more of us than I think Victron has an idea.
In the latest Venus OS Beta, the New UI (gui-v2) now hides “AC Loads” if there is no inverter/charger or dedicated AC load devices (EV charging station, energy meters, Shelly’s, …) in the system (→ Venus OS v3.70~74 available for public testing - #2 ). And there are more UI-related improvements for DC-only systems planned.
If its not too bold to ask can we please please have DC loads as detected/approximated by the Lynx Shunt (ve.can) treated the same as it is by the smartshunts, i.e counted as consumption in VRM graphs etc? It just doesn’t make sense that lynx shunt doesnt work/report the same way.
Not just Lynx… battery monitors built in smart lithium batteries are missing this feature… there is absolutely no reason to install SmartShunt if the managed lithium battery in DC only system measures very precisely current and voltage. VRM should display red consumption graphs in this kind of setup too.
