We have a few identical setups now on VRM - Cerbo, Smart Solar, Smart Shunt
I’m trying to standardise the dashboards and am running an issue where on copying a dashboard, custom widgets aren’t coming across with the any “System” metrics that are used, leading to having to reconfigure each widget individually.
Is this a known issue, is this planned to be rectified or is there an efficient workaround?
This behaviour is the same on the Beta VRM too.
I don’t particularly like bumping for visibility - but I feel like this is a genuine issue that the team should be aware of. Am I posting in the right channel for this?
You are, but you need to appreciate that this isn’t a support site so it may or may not get noticed and you may or may not get a response.
Issues tend to be elevated by mods when either the number reports or gravity of the issue necessitates it.
Perhaps provide a bit more detail like if the sites have similar hardware configurations etc.
@calsinclair feedback is this is unfortunately a feature, so quite normal for custom widgets. If the system cannot match device type and instance then it cannot map the widget correctly requiring manual adjustment.
