VRM communication lost after GX firmware update to v3.67 (MultiPlus-II GX)

yesterday I updated my Victron Energy MultiPlus-II GX.

  • VE.Bus firmware (inverter/charger): v558

  • GX device firmware (internal GX module): v3.67

After updating the GX firmware to v3.67, communication with VRM Portal stopped completely.

The system is otherwise running, but:

  • No data is sent to VRM

  • Device appears offline in VRM

  • Internet connection on the GX device is OK

When I roll back the GX firmware to v3.14, VRM communication starts working again immediately.

So the issue seems directly related to GX firmware v3.67.

Questions:

  1. Is this a known issue with v3.67 on MultiPlus-II GX?

  2. Are there any additional settings required after the update?

  3. Is there a recommended stable firmware version for the GX part of MultiPlus-II GX?

Thanks for any advice.

Issue resolved – VRM connection restored

Just a quick update in case this helps someone else.

After installing the internal GX in my MultiPlus-II GX, the system would no longer appear online in VRM, even though internet access and network settings were fine. VRM status on the GX showed no errors, but the installation in VRM stayed offline.

The root cause was that the new internal GX created a new VRM Portal ID.
So VRM was still linked to the old GX ID, while the system was now reporting under a different one.

What fixed it:

  • Confirmed the new VRM Portal ID in the GX (Settings → VRM)

  • Used the “Replace GX device” / GX replacement function in VRM

  • Linked the existing installation to the new VRM ID

After that, the system immediately came online and everything (data, layout, users) worked again.

Network, firewall, DNS etc. were not the real issue — it was just the changed VRM ID after the GX replacement.

Hope this helps someone :+1:
