Victron Orion TR Smart 24/24-17

My Victron Orion TR Smart 24/24-17 is charging a 24V 100A Lifepo4 battery. It is about 70% full. The Orion TR Smart is set as a charger and with the standard Lithium settings. The Orion TR Smart is showing 22 to 23 amps. Shouldn’t that be a maximum of 17A? what could be the cause?

If I interpret the data sheet correctly, that’s 17A at 40 degrees.

Calculated with 480 watts, you get 20A.

I would say that’s how it is…

The 22 to 23 amps were at about 5 degrees today

The old Orion models have very little intelligence…for me, anything between 17 and 24A would be OK.

And I would assume that the colder it is, the more powerful the device is.

Thanx for your answer!! I have a second, newer Victron Orion TR Smart 24/24-17. It provides about 14 A in the same situation. Could the other one, which provides about 24 A, be defective? This one also smells like it has been too hot before.
