Victron Energy 1200VA 12 slow red, fast green blinking

My 1200VA inverter is not powering a residential refrigerator. After turning ON (I), the green light comes on. After about 15 seconds, I hear a buzz and the red light starts to blink slowly and the green light blinks fast. In the ECO (II) position, the green light blinks immediately after switching on.

The inverter has mostly worked with the same refrigerator and Lithium batteries. Voltage at the input to the inverter is 13.2V.

Any ideas on what the problem might be?

Download the Victron Toolkit app to your phone, it has the LED fault codes. The manual has the most common ones. Manuals found on the Victronenergy.com site, product page.

Thanks. The sequence that I describe is not shown in the manual. I downloaded the Toolkit app and it’s not shown there either.

Are we meant to interpret the red and green lights independently from each other? For example, a slow red blink means “Under voltage”. A fast green means “Search mode active”.

I always thought that they were not independent in these cases. Have you checked the inverter terminal voltage as you turn the fridge on as under load there may be voltage drop. Does the inverter power other equipment OK. Exactly what type of inverter.

I checked to voltage after the blinking started. I did not check the voltage during the initial 15 seconds. I’ll look into that.

Yes, the inverter powers a small Wyze camera just fine. The inverter is: Phoenix Inverter 12/1200 120V VE.Direct NEMA 5-15R.

Did you check the right inverter choice in the Victron Toolkit app, tjere is one for inverter 800VA-1200VA and another for inverter VE Direct 250VA-1200VA. In the VE Direct one green blinking fast, red blinking slow is given as Off and waiting - low battery. If you have developed a loose connection on the DC supply to the inverter for example during fridge start up the voltage may dip low and the inverter shut down, but once the power draw has gone, the voltage recovers. Check your cabling and breakers etc.

Sometimes just turning a breaker or switch on and off makes the contacts move and remake a better electrical connection.

Yes, I see the different product choice in the App and the blinking pattern. Perhaps low battery is the issue. I’ll re-check the connections.
