So a person who has hacked or cracked or smacked… Gets an id. Being able to just reset an owner now?.. Definitely is best to have it need extra verification or checked first or have to need a physical intervention.
But you are right if someone wanted to they probably could. Generating a new id (such as with the pi) is different to working out how to get an existing someones id. Its alot of effort to do so when other than a bit of mischief would not gain a person much? Or at least i couldn’t think of a reason to do so. But then i don’t have the nature for what some peole do.
Received 2 Tickets one in Dec’25 and another in Jan’26. VRM requests were processed. The Dealer has not transferred Ownership although all documentation was submitted responsibility as we gave Proxy authority to the Installer, which we did - but were not made aware of the consequences thereof. Looking for advise on how to best resolve this, as irregularities have occurred in relation to our solar system.
its tricky as there does not seem to be anyway to get in touch with Victron to remedy this… I was in the same situation as you, so what I did was ask the question in a new topic on here and @guystewart stepped in. At that point I have to say that the service from Victron was amazing. Had an email from someone in technical at Victron who very swiftly sorted the problem, gave me some advice on updates to my system and now all is sorted. They also said that Victron would be in touch with the unresponsive dealer. So all in once you get there attention the customer service is impeccable. Good luck!
Thank you for your response. I love my Victron System, once this has been fixed I’ll be ecstatic. I am technically challenged and it took me months to log onto the community, I hopeful for the same response from @guy steward.

If I am understanding the situation correctly, Your enquiry looks a little different to the others. You have access to the VRM site, but only read only, and someone else(your installer) is the admin/owner and they are not giving admin access to you.
No, The current Admin is not the Installer.
They were granted Admin Rights by us as the settings were changing without us doing anything.
I have no idea how to change anything except the Battery.
The Dealer tells us that Poxy/Ownership was given to the Installer by us, but refuses to make the change.
Once Ownership is given to us, we will be Admin and Technical rights to the company currently assisting us.
