Victron BMV 712 VS Smart Shunt

I currently have the BMV 712 which is connected to my Victron 100/30 Solar Controller. However, I am upgrading to LifePo. I have installed a Victron Isolated 12 12 30 DC to DC Charger. Do I need to purchase a smart shunt and install on the negative from the LifePo battery, or will the BMV 712 do the same task?

Really not sure what your set up is and why you have the DC to DC. Draw a diagram.

You can use the BMV to monitor the lithium battery if connected correctly, everything connects to the load side of the shunt, which then connects to the battery.

Thank you. The diagram is helpful.
