VenusOS with dual network ports

I have a VenusOS Raspberry Pi, I have it set up to link to two networks, one is the public one where the system data is published to Victron, the other is an internal network which is isolated from the public network.

The system sees both networks but the 2nd port has a metric of 100 making it want to force all comms to the other port which has a metric of 0.

I went in and tried to change the metric on the 2nd port but it will not let me.

I just want to allow the 2nd port to access the device also.

The OS would normally only connect to one network.

Usually what is done is the router it is connected to has the ability to separate a private network from a public one and forward some traffic.

This has been addressed in cerbos.
Try set the non internet interface to use a 0.0.0.0 gateway.

I tried to reply direct from my email but it said I could not do that… Here is my reply:

The 2nd network is an amateur radio based network so we have some special issues that have to

be dealt with. It is easier just to have two ports on a device and allow it to talk to both networks.

I do not understand why the network parts needs to be so locked down. In this case we are trying

to make the PV data available over a special network, so we need to be able to have that other

port. .

I shall try the 0.0.0.0 gw and see if that works. Generally I can just drop the metric down and that

takes care of it, but for some reason VenusOS will not allow me to do so.

Where you set it to manual config. You can enter the ip address etc you can specify a gateway.
