I have a simple 12v setup on travel trailer. BVM712 with remote monitor, MPPT, lithium cell. Just added the Multi-2000 (new) to the system but having trouble with programming.

Laptop recognizes the MK3 adapter which is plugged into the Multiplus. Only 1 VE bus port connected. I verified that ports work since I can control via Digital Multi Controller. When I run the newest software, Com3 is identified and the software recognizes the MK3 but times out searching for device. I tried 2 different RG45 cables with same results.

Any ideas??

On a whim and reading through various docs, I tried a third patch cable. This one worked.

So when Victron says use high quality cables, they mean it.
