V.E Bus can't detect my multiplus 24/1200/25

Hi..I’m very green..V.E Bus is plugged into laptop and multiplus. I have installed quick configure.When I click auto detect it doesn’t find the multiplus. My windows is updated..am I doing something wrong?Thanks for any feedback

You need a mk3 USB to VEBUS adapter. Do you have one?

  • MPs are powered by batteries and switched ON?
  • Laptop to first MP with MK3-USB cable?
  • Check your standard ETH cables between MPs

So heres the thing..Pylontech battery does not turn on..Has been left for 3months although was left fully charged.For some reason now it doesnt turn on.Only way to turn it on is to have MP plugged into mains to charge it.Pylontech is showing red led protect light

You can try manually switch the MP to charger only setting on the main switch.

Ok so I have just done as you said..Previously the inverter green light had not come on, just the charger light.Now its the same, just charger light

So that should charge the batteries assuming they have not disabled themselves.
There was a process to wake pylon batteries that had over-discharged. It was in a pylon manual.
If you have a GX it should report battery state. Remember you can’t connect both that and a mk3 at the same time.

Are you saying that if battery has disabled itself then VEBUS wouldnt dtect MP.Pretty sure pylon has disabled as Protect led light is on and have been trying to charge it for many hrs with no apparent change….VEBUS wouldnt work with MP plugged into mains if the battery is disabled??

No, if the multiplus has power it should be detectable, unless you also have a GX connected.
Also, don’t use auto.
Check device manager and make sure you see the device and the COM port assigned, then set that in veconfigure.

ah ok..not sure what GX is but only VEBUS connected..wondering if I need to download specific drivers?

Its is a cerbo, venus, ekrano etc.

ok.no I dont have them..When I switch on MP on either setting..Red alarm led comes on first for 10sec before going off and yellow comes on.is that relevant?

Which yellow - bulk, absorb, float.?
The red light is most likely due to the battery.

Ah, its not an MP2.
Try use victron connect app as a plan B.

What baffles me is that I had this system configured 2yrs ago..nothing has changed except perhaps cold to the battery..No MP24/1200/25

It’s more than likely an issue on the laptop and mk3. Try another device if you can. Try the connect app.
Do the manual method I suggested via device manager to confirm you can see the mk3 and the assigned com port.
