V3.70~beta: issue when adding mods that add relays

Since version v3.70-27 up to the latest release v3.70-41 (with v3.70-26 being the last version that worked correctly), I’ve been encountering an issue where Battery data from the SmartShunt is not displayed on the Overview and Brief pages within the Remote Console. Instead, I get the message: “Battery is not connected.” However, the SmartShunt data still appears correctly in the device list.

My setup:

  • Venus OS running on Raspberry Pi (last working version: v3.70-26)
  • Solar Charger: MPPT 100/20 (v1.64)
  • Battery Monitor: SmartShunt 500A (v4.19)
  • Battery: VRLA AGM 200Ah

Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

Hi @mikisound , is it ok if an engineer logs into your system remotely?

You have to enable the Remote support feature for that (Settings → General → access &security).

I already found the system using your email address.

Remote support enabled!
Thanks!

Hi again,

we checked, and the reason is a modification that you installed or made - which adds relays.

We’ll work on making our code more resilient for that.

Note that I moved your post out of the main beta thread, into the modifications section.

Everything is working now!
I sincerely appreciate your and your team’s exceptional effort and the outstanding work you consistently deliver.
Thank you!

Unfortunately, the same issue has resurfaced following the latest update. Since I’m not aware of what steps you took last time to resolve it, is there anything I can adjust or change, or should I wait for a fix from your side?
Thanks in advance!

Hi, yes await the fix or revert using the backup firmware feature.
