The SmartShunt is NOT showing up in the battery monitor on the CCGX, and on the MultiPlus-II it shows the SOC at 5% when the battery voltage is at over 27v which is almost full for my 24v system. I am using eco-worthy lithium batteries
Forgive me if this seems patronizing and you have already don this but you need to do two things.
Make sure the V.E Direct cable connection is made from the shunt to the back of the Color Control.
Go into settings to add the smart shunt as your battery monitor.
I thought this sounded familiar. You already created an identical post a week ago. I guess you didn’t get it to work?
No I haven’t got it working yet. I’ve tried different VE connections with no luck, and it does not show up on my battery monitor.. I’ve attached a photo.
Hmm, it should show. Have you configured the smartshunt in VictronConnect? This may be an issue to talk to your Victron Dealer about.
What version of Venus OS is your CCGX running?
Since the SmartShunts -and especially the SmartShunt IP65s- are a much newer product than the CCGX, I know OS updates were required to get them to work in the Venus OS; your maximum OS version will be 3.55 on the CCGX, but as I recall it was around OS 3.10 that the functionality was introduced to successfully communicate with the SmartShunt IP65 range. Could just need an OS update if you’re not already at 3.10 or higher!
Thank you Justin, I thought I was set for automatic updates, but on closer inspection I see it was on “Read only” . I’ve been trying to update online but it doesn’t seem to want to take, it tries to install but fails. I’m trying to locate the file to put on an SD card and install it that way, but I’m having trouble locating higher that a 2.18 file. but I’ll keep at it.
So I did get OS 3.65 loading on to the CCGX, but still the shunt doesn’t show up on the Battery monitor. But like in the move “ The outlaw Josie Wales” I Shall endeavor to persevere!
“You gunna update that OS or whistle Dixie?” Josey Wales
I did update, to 3.65 but I’m still not finding the shunt.
Just to verify, you can connect with your smartphone via Bluetooth?? Correct? I am asking because I had a faulty one recently.
Yes, I have it networked with my MPPT
