V3.60 No BMS alarm on VE.Direct solar charger every hour

Every hour or so I Am getting the BMS #67 bms not connected error with this beta version. The connection restores it selfs after couple of seconds. I have a Vebus bms v2.

Hi @keesoomen , thank you we’ll investigate.

Is it Ok if we login remotely to the system? I see that Remote Support is already enabled.

And is it ok if we update it to the latest beta again to see what happens - when when log in? Will be somewhere next week.

@mpvader yes please go ahead.
When I reverted the firmware now back to 3.54, the issue seems to persist. It looks like after every half an hour or so there is a high cpu load on the system for whatever reason which might trigger the issue. I am updating now to 3.55 to see if it gets better, but had no issues before I started switching / switching back to the newest beta.

Ok noted. Thanks for letting me know - this helps

I have the same problem

I also get multiple daily BMS#67 alarms on both Ve.direct and Ve.can MPPT’s since going from v3.54 to v3.55 so maybe it’s not beta related. However, I am running Battery Aggregator and Dbus-SerialBattery, so it may be them.

When I used ‘top’ via SSH connection I saw that tailscale was eating a lot of memory (>500MB), now it can be due to I had KevinWindrem’s tailscaleGX package. This might have been the problem for me. I tried to uninstall, but with that i managed to break the system due to probably some mistakes in how to uninstall. I need to do a reset of venusOS now, so not sure if remote debugging my system would help. Nevertheless, after doing this reset I will check if problem reoccurs with clean install. I read also that tailscale would be integrated soon in VenusOS, so I will leave that KevinWindrem;s package for now uninstalled

I did a full factory reset including re-install venusOS with latest 3.55 and then installed the beta. No problems anymore. I guess it was the tailscale - for me

Ok thanks. I’ll mark this a solved!

Maybe it’s CerboGX load related. If system load is high then I get the No BMS Alarm as well.
I need to investigate more…
