Since the v3.5 update I’ve seen intermittent issue with my ESS setup (CerboGX, Multiplus II, Pylontech batteries, EM112 RS485), where the Cerbo will report there is no grid meter and revert to passthrough mode, which puts the house on grid energy rather than taking it from the batteries. I have to unplug and replug the EM112 USB cable to get it to come back. Restarting the Cerbo doesn’t bring it back.
Are there any known issues with this? Until now, for the last 2 years, this has worked perfectly. Seems a bit more than coincidence that this has started since v3.5 update
Hi, i have updated to Cerbo firmware 3.52 yesterday. Since then, i also had 4 times “Grid meter lost”. Always for a few seconds. Do you already have a solution?
I have an instance where after upgrading to 3.51 and then 3.52, the Grid input is apparently lost, but in fact is still there. It is a marine installation with a Quattro. Have reverted back one version to 3.51. Fault still there.
Output 2 of the Quattro is alive but the input is showing as dead. An unusual situation to say the least. Mains Voltage is definitely on the input terminals.
We are still fault finding and the boat is elsewhere so a bit difficult but if I had to guess I would say V3.51 and V3.52 under certain circumstances have a problem with intermittently showing a loss of mains when in fact mains is there. For this reason, I am not sure your problem is related to the external energy meter or the USB port. The problem may be more universal than that.
I realised my issue was happening when I was changing my battery charging schedule over Modbus using my Home Assistant Node Red. I do this as I dynamically get cheap electric periods and use them to charge the batteries. There was an error in my logic and it was sending the changes multiple times. Since sorted the multiple instructions to only send once then it’s been fine.
I suspect something around changing the charge schedule off/on was then causing an error on the USB, as if I unplugged the grid sensor and plugged it in again it would be fine until I got another cheap period of electric and it would drop out again.
@kg666 Many thanks…… we can’t afford the time to muck around so we are swapping out the Quattro and will test after that.
Out situation has mains power is definitely on the input, ACout2 is on and Quattro is in inverter mode, mains is shown as off on VRM and CerboGX. A very strange fault. Makes no sense so we are swapping out the Quattro as we cannot continue with the fault.
