I have just updated to the new ui , and updated to version 3.60-53 and it looks great on my phone screen. But on my non touch screen hdmi display connected to my cerbo, im still getting alarm notifications (which is normal) and before i was able to use ny phone to tap on the “check” symbol then the “esc” symbol and the hdmi display reverted back to showing the main stats page. But since the new ui on my phone, i can no longer control my hdmi monitor, and is stuck on the alarm page. Is there a way round this without buying an expensive remote consol monitor with touch screen?
The whole point of the GUIv2 is so that two remote consoles can be used on different pages. (Not mirrored)
Even with the original Victron screen, you would have the same issue.
If you need to directly control the other one you will have to stay on GUI v1 on the phone.
So it is by design, there is no fault there.
go to the remote interface on a computers webbrowser (at the same network) by the used internal IP-adres
Nice work around.
Please don’t post beta related topics in the main section. There is a place for that and most of these issues and requests are already documented, so if you want to run betas, please stay informed on the release notes and logged issues. There is also a howto post section at the start of the change log. I will move this post so long. Thanks.
This problem has nothing to do with beta firmware! It was about the gui-v1 alarm message when your phone is on gui-v2. This problem is exactly the same for people running the latest official 3.54 firmware.
This information should remain in the normal section because the v360~53 was not the problem. It was gui-v2 choice on his phone, witch as you might know, once chosen cannot be undone !
I appreciate that. What is helpful when stating an issue is on beta code, is to roll back to production and confirm it is a general issue, else it confuses things.
There are so many reports, some coincidental, some known and some not.
We draw a line to avoid confusion, and that starts with the OP following some basic troubleshooting.
Had this topic started with the right info, it would have remained. Nonetheless, the automated search and recommendation engine will suggest topics that are in beta, not that many people choose to search or consider them.
We’re volunteers, doing the best we can under a volume of topics from members that often don’t read or search for anything,. Thats a general comment and nothing related to @mfred868 who is a regular contributor. It may not appear like it, but we moderate to make it easier to find information.
Thanks for your help, it is appreciated.
Sorry i was getting upset. I had the same problem with my Ali express screen when switching to gui-v2 on Venus OS 3.50
At first i was trying with a keyboard but that also was unable to use. I melt l myself has also tried several beta firmware because you hope for some solution. On 3.51( or 3.52) i finally could use a mouse to get my screen back. The new UI is to small for my old eyes so for quick check i still use the 7" screen.
I was very happy that i ran into the remote console on lan. Not found any help in the forum but simply fuzzing around to solve my problem.
At this moment i am also running 3.60~53 because the official firmware 3.54 cut off my mppt grid discharge when battery is full. As from 3.60~25 the peak shaving is also working so i hope the 3.60~53 will soon be some official version. It solves my problems.
It sounds like they are trying to get it out the door, but I think there is an interim production version planned to backport some fixes.
Keep checking the change log feed, you can change the notification level on that post as well to stay completely up to date
That’s a good tip. Up until now i was checking firmware on the cerbo GX twice a day
So does this v2 version of ui not support remotely controlling the hdmi screen next to the cerbo like v1 did?
If not i would need to revert back to v1, but now i read that i cant go back. What do i do now? I feel like ive entered a room, locked the door behind me and through the key out the window!
You can control the system via multiple displays of the new UI.
You won’t see a session being mirrored though.
Dont know whats wrong but i tried this usung an android tablet web browser connected to the wifi router where the ethernet cable from the cerbo gx is connected to , but its not finding the gx device .
Any ideas?
On the tablet do you have victron connect?
If you do use it to get there that way from the GX in the list.
I can access victron connect with my phone, and i see the gx device listed, but where do i go from there? If only has the vrm option which ive already been using, but ots not charging my hdmi display.
Also, why didnt the hdmi display upgrade to the gui v2 screen when i did the update earlier. That alarm page on my hdmi screen still looks like what it always did when when i had the old v1
You may need to enable remote console over lan.
Or make sure you are in the local tab not the VRM one.
If you have then it should look like this.
You can access the GX device by typing venus.local or http://venus.local into a web browser
