V system Sustain Voltage versus DVCC

Hi everyone
does anyone have info on how the VE.bus(Quattro in our case) Sustain Voltage in the Advanced tab behaves in relation to the DVCC - CVL reference?

We have multiple systems with Smart Batteries and have the DVCC functionality enabled. It is my understanding that when DVCC is enabled, the Ve System Charge parameters for Voltage are ignored and the system follows the CVL limit instead. What happens in such system if the Sustain mode in the Advanced panel is enabled? Does the System follow:

  • Ignores the Sustain voltage
  • always follow the Sustain voltage and ignore CVL
  • Follow the lowest of the Sustain voltage and CVL
  • if the later, will the system force a new charge to CVL when the absorption timer expires as described in the Help message?

Looking forward to get feedback from anyone with experience with this functionality

On my boat with the newer Victron NG batteries I have prefer renewable energy selected with a 13.2V sustain setting. When the Lynx BMS calls for absorption with a CVL of 14.0V the Multiplus goes to 14.0V. When absorption completes and CVL falls to 13.5V the Multiplus goes to sustain voltage. During the day the MPPT charges the batteries at 13.5V. At night, the batteries drop down to 13.35V, the Multiplus does not take over charging at 13.5V.

@pwfarnell Thank you very much. This is what I was hoping. I appreciate the feedback…
