I have a trace SW4024 inverter that has been charging 24 volt AGM batteries, can I charge Victron 24 volt Lithium batteries with similar Parameters? The Trace has programable settings, which seem to be within the charge paramiters to the 24 volt lithium batteries. I know there’s no BMS connection.
If it has programmable voltage settings for float and absorption it should be OK. Generally lithium batteries need a much shorter absorption time than AGM so make sure this is reduced to say 15 mins or 30 mins. If it has the option of ending absorption at a set tail current then use 4% of the battery capacity, so for 400Ah stop absorption at 12A. Then keep an eye on the cell balance and if the balance is worsening increase absorption time or reduce tail current.
