Something is limiting my discharge JK BMS V9 and Victron

Hello!

My system is:
3x Victron Multiplus 15000VA 48V/200
20kW Fonius Snap Inverter (Microgrid)
6x 16kwh battery packs = 96 kWh LiFepO4 EVE 314Ah.

I’ve connected my car to charge from batteries at 22kW, total house load 25kW.

It should only use the batteries, but I still get 4kW from the grid, and the inverter is producing 9kW now.

Each JK BMS charge/discharge limit is 156A (0.5c)

Why is this orange? It is a 15000VA system

Ohhhhh!
I see the orange line at 9kw inverting!
The room temperature is 25C with active Air conditioner.

Is there a way to read the internal temperature? It seems to be a frustrating secret!

Well the temp is 22c on exhaust

I’m still having this problem.

I cannot draw more than ±12 kw from the batteries…
Where should I search this limit?

The problem is still here.

The same problem is present on my friend’s 3x Quattro 10VA with 8 x 16kWh batteries and JK v19

How about posting your config?

It is in the initial post, see above.

My system is:
3x Victron Multiplus 15000VA 48V/200
20kW Fonius Snap Inverter (Microgrid)
7x 16kwh battery packs = 112 kWh LiFepO4 EVE 314Ah.
CerboGX 3.7

Let me know what info you need.
The Grid is 50kW 400V connection

The remote veconfigure file.

Here it is

MT_.zip (4.0 KB)

Does it behave as you expect without the EVCS running?
Have you tried to change the phase regulation to individual?

I will try tomorrow

My friend tried now, it is like a hard limit at 11.4kW

Kindly keep to one issue per topic, trying to triage two systems with so little info is only going to be confusing.

Ok, sorry.
Sadly, the situation is the same with individual phase settings.

I suspect that JK is actually sending the 200A limit to the inverter ;(

It is more helpful to enable “show details” for dashboard images.
The advanced widget for BMS limits will show DCL and CCL limits.
That is a bit of a specific number so more likely the BMS limiting discharge.
It is an unsupported BMS so it comes with the territory.

Yes, JK is unsupported, but it is getting wildly popular.
With the grid down, there is no limit :frowning:

Yip, many limits are ignored when there the system is forced to invert.
You can also try using the “other” grid code as a test to see if your system is being limited by regs.

Both installations are using the Austrian default grid settings.
I’ll try Other tomorrow on my system.

This is the Austrian grid code settings:

Yes — the culprit is visible in your VEConfigure screenshot.

The setting “Limit generated apparent power to 36.0% of rated power” is almost certainly what is creating the on-grid ~11–11.5 kW ceiling. Victron’s manuals state that the selected grid code governs inverter behavior when feeding energy back into the grid, and those grid-code parameters are set in VEConfigure.

Why this matches your numbers:

  • You have 3 × Quattro 10000

  • Each unit is 10 kVA apparent power

  • 36% of 10 kVA = 3.6 kVA per unit

  • Across 3 phases: 3 × 3.6 = 10.8 kVA total

We will see…
