SOLVED! MPPT 75 10 no bluetooth connection at night

New user here, just installed the MPPT75 10 in my fifth wheel to replace the original Furrion device. Install went well, bluetooth connection worked first time … happy camper. Went to connect to bluetooth with the app in the evening and no device could be found, checked the unit and there were no lights on. Woke up this morning, tried to connect again, and all was good. Is this normal, in my mind I am thinking that the unit goes into a deep sleep mode if there is no solar power so that it is not a drain on the battery, but this means that the battery voltage can’t be monitored in periods of low light. Is there a setting that allows the unit to be accessible all the time. I tried reading the instructions, but couldn’t find anything relevant.
Thanks for any input

No bluetooth = no direct connection to battery

Probably a diode in the wiring

The MPPT 75 10 connects (via a fuse) directly to the battery. The system works fine when there is voltage from the panels. Not sure how much voltage is needed, will be checking on that.

Check the fuse in the MPPT. You don’t have a battery connection.

During the day it is powering from the PV side. If it is not reachable at night that would be the first thing to check.

Almost certainly normal.

I have a now 11 year old 75/50A MPPT solar controller that is obviously powered from the solar side.
No solar input (evening) = dead controller until wakeup at daybreak. i.e. no overnight Bluetooth output.

The 2 year old 100/50A is powered from the battery side and remains active overnight displaying 0 amps.

Take a diode and connect it to the mppt

Anode on out plus battery output
Kathode on plus pv input

Should work, but ofc the system will never show 0v pv again :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

OK, embarrassment time!! The out -ve battery output from the MPPT was not making contact to ground due to an issue with a connector. Rewired the connector and all is good, everything works 24/7 now. I hadn’t noticed the fault as I had not yet connected any load to the battery.
Thanks for the feed back.

Yeah, nobody ever checks the ground wiring, so its hard to find…
