Can’t connect to SmartSolar via Bluetooth

Sorry if this has been dealt with before(new to this!) I have a SmartSolar MPPT 100/50 and for some reason I cannot connect to it via Bluetooth, I used to be able to but for some reason it won’t connect now, please help, thanks in advance.

Just for clarity, are you suggesting disconnecting both the pv cables and then the battery cables at the mppt box.

Sorry for my ignorance

Thank you very much, all sorted, you’re a star👏🏼

Ludo, your remedy works, however I have to repeat this every time I switch power on, is this something I’ve just got to put up with or is there a long term solution.

Once again many thanks.

I have a battery isolation switch and an inverter isolation switch which I always switch off when I’m not onboard, as far as I’m aware the solar controller is always on. Should either of the 3 lights be on if there is power to it?

Thanks again

Sorry when I say solar controller, I mean MPPT.

I would like to come back to this topic. Recently I successfully integrated a battery (LiFePO4 with MBS) and SmartSolar MPPT 100/50 into my balcony power plant. Even though the new setup is working well, I observed that the bluetooth function of the MPPT unit disconnects (and does not automatically reconnect) in case (a) the battery is turned off (this is done by the BMS in order to avoid over-discharge) AND (b) the PV modules start working before the battery is turned ON again (which off-course is the usual automatic sequence). Manual disconnection of PV and battery followed by reconnection of (first) battery and (second) PV modules result in bluetooth visibility as expected. However, I am puzzled by this behavoir. Is this a defect of the MPPT ??
Thank you to share your experience

Hi John,

I have the same issue as you. Having to disconnect/reconnect the smartsolar mppt every time the camper was not used for several weeks.

Did you get a better solution to this problem ?

Kind regards

Ludo

No I still have to disconnect and then reconnect every time I switch off my main batteries when I leave the narrowboat, it is a little frustrating to have to do this, but unless someone comes up with a better idea, I’ll have to do it!

Ok
Thanks for your quick reply.
