Smartsolar 250/100 suddenly unresponsive

After 2.5 years of working flawlessly, one of my Smartsolar 250/100 suddenly has no lights and does not show up on bluetooth or through the VE connection to the CerboGX. I have 3 Sunpower 410 panels (SPR-A410) parellel wired to this controller. I am not getting any voltage from the panels at the controller connections but I am showing voltage from the battery at the controller connections. I’ve reset the battery connection but can’t reset the panel connection (no fuse or disconnect between panels and MPPT) until the sun goes down. Everything was working fine then I got a high voltage alarm on the Cerbo and now the MPPT seems to be bricked?

Is the MPPT dead? Anything else I can check?

Do you have the details of the panels to confirm the Voc and hence if they are right on the limit.

VOC is 48.2v. At 4:00 am, with no sunlight and the generator running, I got an error code #2 in the log for that MPPT showing voltage spiked to 164v. Then at 6:39am I got an error code #82 with negligable voltage and about 3 amps of current then no more reporting from that MPPT. I have since disconnected the battery input and waited for no sunlight to try to “restart” the MPPT but it is not showing any signs of life.

Aft1 is the port side array of 3 panels and Aft2 is the starboard side array.

That is odd as you are nowhere near the voltage limit and such a low Voc panel has no chance of getting the voltage that high. What is odd is this happened in the dark and was recorded on the battery side, quite how 160V was generated there is unknown, either internal in the MPPT or from the generator.

You could talk to your dealer about a replacement.
