Hi, I have a Multi II 5000, Cerbo, Energy meter 112, lithium bats and panels. I am setup for ESS and have not selected grid code in VEConf as I am NOT wanting to feedback and have sized to meet my consumption. I notice that there is a continuous small supply of -15w ~ -30w showing being fed back. I have set-up ESS as per the manual but cannot get the grid reading to settle on zero for no feedback.
Any further ideas over and above physically disconnecting.
Hi zero feedback with ESS is not possible, it will always balance on grid, only thing you can do is set grid setpoint higher in ESS menu
Thank you Marc, does this then not become an issue where in terms of regulation you’re not “entirley” disconnected from the grid, and is the “anti-islanding” not meant to ensure a “protection wall” of sorts between the system and the grid?
I am aware that you can reduce this trickle feed-back by setting the grid-point, it never-the-less becomes futile should you be powering a large load which then suddenly drops, this excess in the wind-down immediately flows to grid, this can be as much as 1kW plus.
ESS cant run off grid, so yes there will always be backfeed, it will never be 100% off grid, if you want that turn off ESS
anti islanding is to make sure when grid is down you dont backfeed to grid, for safety of people working on the grid
only ac out 1 on a multiplus will be powered at that moment from battery and/or PV, ac out 2 will shut down
