I was trying to setup a multiplus with an ESS assistant, but I wish to not back feed into the grid (cause it’s illegal for me in my country unless one has a new digital power meter, I have an old analogue one). However it would not let me add the ESS assistant until I had selected a back feed grid options other than None.
The two settings seem mutally independant to me. Am I missing something here? Anyways I selected my country under the grid back feed rules, added the ESS assitant, how do I set it to not back feed now?
All you can do is set the Grid Setpoint to a wattage like 200W to prevent most backfeed. The ESS will always use at least 200W from the grid (as closely as possible).
However, when large loads shut off, there will still be a second or two of grid backfeed. It is impossible to guarantee zero backfeed to the grid.
ESS will always balance on grid, so absolutely no grid feed in is not possible
Following rick’s option is your best bet, but your grid usage will still be high
I think what @run_the_race is referring to is the grid code.
Choose the grid code for your country if there is one. Otherwise use other.
In the GX the setting for no feedback are found in the menu under ESS like the grid set point that @ricardocello is referring to and the other is to make sure grid feed in is disabled.
We also are not allowed to feedback the combination is how we do it. There is overshoot from time to time as mentioned in certain circumstances.
