I have two quattro’s in parallel with power assist checked and without weak AC checked. I have set the shore limit to 32 A, but when I connect to shore I only get 30A. The incoming voltage is quite stable arrond 225v and never drops below 220v.
What could be the reason I don’t get the full 32A? The socket on shore is a 3phase 63A and there is an adaptor so that I draw only from one phase.
I am trying to change the current limit from 32 to 16A through VRM but it seems that the system doesn’t accept it for some reason. I select 16A but it turns it to 20.6A. Is there a reason? Am I doing something wrong?
After some research I realize that there is a floor to input current limit for the 24/8000 Quattro at 10.3A when power assist is activated. Therefore two quattro’s in parallel the floor becomes 20.6A. This is nowhere mentioned in any official Victron document to me read before buying the product. Not in the manual anyway. For me it is absolutely crucial to be able to limit the current to 16A and have power assist enabled at the same time and if I knew that this is not possible I simply wouldn’t buy the product (along with a raft of other Victron products to complement the system). It is unfortunate that only know I realize that I would have been better off with Mastervolt. In my mind this is a scam.
Huge waste of money, time and effort. I now have to take everything out, damp all the Victron stuff and install a Mastervolt system from the beginning. What a nightmare.
