Roof top entry point gland

What is the preferred set up with solar cable entry point gland with a campervan, mc4 connection or straight through to the regulator with a Anderson connection. I have seen on YouTube videos that many cut off the mc4 for Anderson any suggestions?

Anderson at the solar charge controller or at the panel end? Wonder why Anderson, are they disconnecting often?
On our coach I used MC4 at the panel end, wire through the gland, wire to a DC breaker, wire to the MPPT, wire to the battery bus.

The solar panels I have which will be wired in series have 800mm cable to mc4 which will take me inside the roof cavity, the question is remove cable all together and replace with 2-3m cable with Anderson connection to regulator?

I used this cable gland. It makes it easy to plug in the cables from the solar panels on the roof of the camper and should you ever need to replace or remove a cable, you don’t need to cut or splice a wire. On the inside I ran a cable from the gland to the MPPT. You can see our system here.
