Blue smart IP22 12v 15amp charger

Good morning all! I am considering the purchase of the above charger. It will be a fixed install in my caravan for charging of a 110ah sealed lead acid leisure battery. I have a couple of questions which hopefully someone is able to help me with:-

  1. Is this charger best suited for purpose? It will probably remain on whilst on a hook up.
  2. Once the charger has had its parameters configured, will the charger remember it’s configurations once powered off for next time it is powered back on again?

Thank you for your help in advance!

Hi @1234

It will work perfectly for all your requirements.
You can program and control the smart solar with your smartphone as you want.

You can play a little around with the possibilities in the demo library of Victron Connect.

What kind of solar panel will you install?

And if the panels are fix installed at the roof I wouldn’t disconnect them from charge controler and battery, so that the battery ist fully charged around the hole year.

The van is a Gobur folding caravan. I have installed a hard wired system for solar but with a folding removable panel (did not want extra weight permanently on the roof or drilling if holes in the roof - being a folder). The solar panel is only installed when the caravan is used off grid, which is most of my camping but need the charger for keeping the battery topped up when the van is folded over the winter months and for the rare occasions when I am camping on a hook up.

A foldable caravan, very cool…

I have a foldable solar panel for my camper too

On the battery side of the smart solar I have a 12v cigarette plug who I only plug in then use the panel. On the PC side a plug for the panel.

I have also a smart battery sense at the battery who works with the smart Solar in a ve.smart network to reduce the cable looses.

Both could controlled by smart phone app.
