I have two SmartLithium 200AH batteries, connected in parallel. I was in the process of daisy chaining the BTV cables to my BMS (a smallBMS). However I wasn’t careful enough and broke one of the pins (and bent the other two pins) in one of the BTV cable connectors. See photo attached.
Is it possible to purchase a replacement BTV plug and rewire it myself?
These look similar, they are M8 3 pin, it includes a drawing so you should be able to check the dimensions are correct.
The other option is buy an extension cable and splice this into your existing, but be careful to get it right as there are reports the wire colours are different on the extension.
great, thanks pwfarnell. Really appreciate the suggestions.
I will go with the first option and get one of those plugs. I am in Australia and I think I have found a local supplier, so I think I can get the plug ok.
I note what you say about the wire colours. Do you know whether there is any info on the internet about which wire colours (in the original cable from the battery) are connected to which pins in the plug?
The only info I know of is in the old community page I linked in the previous reply.
