Hello Community,
i recently had the issue with my Lithium SuperPack 12.8V 60Ah Battery not charging and sitting at around 8V.
So I decided to open the case and have a look to see if the BMS can be persuaded to come back to life.
After un- and replugging the BMS cable and thus restarting the BMS it did work again indeed.
Now while I was taking the thing apart I noticed that the BMS is a generic 4S30A and that the cells read VISION Nominal Capacity And Voltage 10Ah, 3.2V Charge And Cutoff Voltage At 25°C 3.65V To 2.0V Float: 3.45V Style: CC/CV Model:V-LFP-R325680 CENTER POWER TECH CO., LTD
So I am wondering if Victron in 2020 just rebranded a Vision battery ( see image of the Vision 60Ah model ) or if I have been sold a counterfeit product?
If entering the serial returns a result, then it’s a genuine product as it goes.
Victron as a company doesn’t manufacture batteries, so a Victron-branded battery is just a battery manufactured to Victron’s specifications by a 3rd-party battery manufacturer, and since between 94-98% of global commercially-available LFP cell manufacturing is done in China, definitely no surprise that the cells and BMS are branded as they are.
