Counterfeit Victron NG battery?

We recently added a 4th battery to expand our existing 3-battery bank (Victron NG 200Ah 12.8V), which we installed about two months ago.

Due to supply shortages in Europe, we had to source the additional battery from a different supplier (TradeInn).

However, the new battery looks slightly different from the others—it has a black knob on the top (see photos), which I haven’t seen before. This raised some concern about whether it could be a counterfeit unit.

Has anyone come across this variation before? Any input would be appreciated.

Type the serial number into the support page. It will tell you if its genuine.

I have and it shows up as an official battery, but copying the printed serial number from a genuine one is easy so do not fully trust this.

I did some googling and found one other thread with this black nobb, it might be a safety vent, but I would have expected Victron to communicate beforehand if they add a vent to their battery…

Similar to this Victron casing so could be a new case in the making.

Yes, that is what I hope it is, a new case/version/update of the normal NG battery.
