Hey everyone,
I’m not sure if this applies to anyone but thought I would share.
We have a 10kw fully off grid setup and we use a auto start Diesel generator to supplement power when we need to top up.
I have it currently set to run between 1500 in the afternoon and 1830 and only if the power is below 75% to try and maximize the solar panels as much as possible and minimize diesel use(essentially it checks the percentage at 1500 if it’s above or below 75%)
To do this I have set the the quiet hours to start at 1830 and finish at 1500, I have made the SOC below 75% and finish at 95%, quiet hours is set to start at 35% and finish at 95% this should turn it on any other time of the day if it drops to 35%.
This basically means the Victron system thinks the day time(loud time) is only between 1500 and 1830 in the afternoon so you can try and get as much light as possible and have the system charged before it gets too late at night.
You can obviously adjust this based on your total battery capacity or needs, this set up works in our current situation.
Hope this may help someone, have a great day.
