I believe I may have come across a bug with the way VenusOS displays grid in AC Input on the local display connected to CerboGX. I’m unable to find a similar issue being noted here in the community (or a fix for that matter) but if I missed it I do apologize!
Setup: US Grid (Quattro 48/10000/140-2x100 120V). CerboGX. Configured with ESS for a grid tied hybrid system. no external energy meter, reading from quattro.
Actual Wiring on Quattros
AC IN 1: Disconnected (Unused)
AC IN 2: Grid Connected
VRM displays AC input as expected:
VenusOS v3.51: Local display works fine, shows same on display for grid power in.
upgrade to 3.52+ (screenshots/currently on 3.54) displays grid in wonky depending on settings.
Settings → System Setup → AC input 1: Not Availalbe
Settings → System Setup → AC input 2: Grid
On 3.51 only showed 1 grid input, same as VRM. Now shows both inputs and both disconnected.
AC input 1: Grid
AC input 2: Not available
AC input 1: Grid
AC input 2: Grid
AC input 1: Grid
AC input 2: Generator
(Takes off and starts charging, assume it thinks the generator is on)
(I would post more scenarios but I’m limited to 5 images here, I think this conveys the gist of the issue well enough though but I can clarify any other settings further if needed)
This is certainly not critical as I can just leave it as Grid/Grid or Generator/Grid and it will always show AC1 as ‘disconnected’ however if I select what is actually wired: AC1: Not Available / AC2: Grid I only get ‘disconnected’ displayed locally and ideally that extra ‘disconnected’ box for the unused input is unnecessary and can be removed when using AC1: Generator /AC2: Grid.
Thought it was odd, I do believe this may be a bug with the firmware unless again, I’m missing something here or this is intentional and I just don’t understand why! Wanted to mention it incase if it is in fact a bug maybe the kind Victron folks can work that into one of the future firmware fixes?
Thanks!
