Hi community ,
I have a 3 phase victron multiplus ii setup with a large 2x 4P16S 280Ah battery bank.
I also have 2x MPPT 48v solar inverter and 2x (5.75Kwp & 2.12Kwp) AC solar inverters
The installation (garage) is about 25 meters from the main circuit breaker (house) and I do not have a lot of space to mount extra electronics. The House and the Garage are connected with 10mm2 copper cable going to the vixtron/battery system and another copper cable 10mm2 goes back to the switchboard in the house.
The main breaker is 25A 3P
Currently I have a grid meter ET340 , 3P Solar meter ET340 and a 1P Solar meter ET112 for measurment purposes connected to the cerbo GX. These a connected over shielded CAT6A cable to RS485 Convertors to USB.
As I found the EM340 to be slow - I bought the VM-3P75CT to measure the GRID.
As I do not have a lot of place in the house to position the VM-3P75CT - I want to install it in the garage where I have room enough. Now I have some questions :
-
Would it make a huge difference to measure in the garage ( closer to the Victron install) instead if the house due to the resistance in the 10mm2 25 meter copper cable ? Or is that something to ignore ?
-
If it does not matter if I put it in the garage , would it be possible to run both meters in parallel until I configured the VM-3P75CT ?
-
Later I am planning to install a 10KvA generator in the garage. Would you advice to buy a VM-3P75CT as well for that purpose ?
-
Would you connect of ethernet or use the CAN bus - My preference goes for CAN over shielded CAT6A cable.
Any advise or expierence would be greatly appreciated
Kenny
