Persistent Imbalance in a Victron LiFePO4 Battery

I’m having an issue with one of my Victron 200Ah LiFePO4 batteries that I can’t seem to resolve. I have eight batteries total in the system, and seven of them stay balanced. But battery #6 is consistently out of balance.

Occasionally, it will balance on its own (the last time was back in December), but most of the time, it doesn’t. When I check the cell details, cell 1 always shows the highest voltage, while cell 4 shows the lowest. I’ve tried restarting the controller several times, but that hasn’t made any difference.

Can I try anything else to get this battery to balance properly? Could this be a sign that something is wrong with the battery itself?

Any advice would be appreciated—thanks!

How old is your battery?

They were installed two years ago. It was this past winter I noticed that battery six wasn’t balanced. Prior to that, it would balance like the other batteries.

Are they getting the 2 hours absorption at 14.2V per Victron recommendations.

Have you tried anything from the troubleshooting section of the manual. It could be worth trying something on just this one battery. If they are only 2 years old get in touch with your supplier if you can not resolve it.

This is what I would suspect too. I had my charger set to “adaptive absorption” and over a few months the batteries would become imbalanced. They really need the 2 hours of absorption to balance properly.

This is why i keep my batteries at absorption level untill the sun goes down.
