No communication between Cerbo GX MK2 and JK-BMS V19

Hello,

I need help because I can’t get the JK-BMS to communicate with the Cerbo GX MK2.

Here’s my setup:

  • Victron Multi RS connected to the Cerbo GX via VE-CAN port 2 (VE.CAN 250 kbit/s), with two blue termination plugs, one at each end.
  • Cerbo GX MK2 connected between the Cerbo’s VE-Can port 1 and my DIY battery via the CAN port (second port from the left), which is fitted with a JK-BMS running updated software V19-27. The cable is Type A (I’ve also tried Type B), and there’s a termination plug on the Cerbo GX’s VE-Can port 1.
  • On the JK-BMS, CAN Protocol: 004 Victron_CANbus_BMS_protocol_201..
  • On the Cerbo GX: CAN-bus LV (500 kbit/s)
  • Just one battery, with all DIP switches set to zero.
On the VE-Can port 1 network, I get the following result: ERROR-PASSIVE TEC: 128 REC: 0

I don’t know what else to do. I’ve rebooted the JK-BMS and the Cerbo several times, but there’s still nothing—the JK-BMS doesn’t show up in the device list. Is there something wrong with my setup? Thanks for your help.

Hi,
did you resolve your issue?
w

Yes, but not using a Victron Type A or Type B cable on the CAN-bus port. Instead, I used a Seplos USB adapter with an RJ45 cable connected to the Cerbo GX, and the RS485 port (not CAN-BUS) on the battery side.

Then I installed the dbus-serialbattery driver by following the instructions on the website Introduction | dbus-serialbattery
