Parallel tank quantities on analog gauges and Cerbo

Is it possible to parallel my existing tank quantity gauges with my Cerbo GX? I also have the GX Tank 140 module.

Yes or no. Not enough info. You need to know which type of sender as I stated on the other post you have contributed to.

Resistance based and 4-20mA current based can not be paralleled directly as they will both be trying to drive the sender. There have been reports of people paralleling them with extra circuit boards in you would have to search.

If the gauge signal is voltage based then you can connect them in parallel with the GX Tank 140. I have done this successfully. The existing gauge will have 3 wires, a +ve, a -ve and a signal wire. Take a connection from the -ve and signal wires to the GX Tank 140.

The sensor unit is a VDO Veratron Fresh Water Sensor 4-20mA. As per your response this would seem to suggest it won’t parallel with the Tank 140 unit. Do you have any further info on the circuit board option? I haven’t been able to find anything on this. Thanks.

The work around I saw reported was for resistance senders and I can no longer find this.

For your case what I believe you need is a 4-20mA signal splitter. I have seen these used industrially where a signal needs to go to 2 controllers but not sure about in a boat or vehicle. Just Google for 4-20mA signal splitter.

Brilliant. Signal splitter was the term I needed to launch me down a new rabbit hole! I think this should work and I will update with my results. Many thanks for the lead.

@Spray This just came up from someone else, they provided wiring diagram for their sender and there may be a work around for them that I posted , but no guarantee. I thought you may be interested.

Nice. Appreciate the update.
