Orion XS 12/12-50A shows Input Voltage = Lock-out setting — suspect firmware issue?

Hi all,

I have a problem with my Orion XS 12/12-50A, which previously worked flawlessly. Recently, it has stopped functioning properly, and I’m seeing very strange behavior:

  • The Input Voltage shown in VictronConnect always equals the configured “Input Voltage Lock-out” setting.
  • If I set the lock-out to 12.5 V, it shows 12.5 V as input voltage. If I change it to 10.0 V, it immediately updates the input voltage display to 10.0 V — even though the actual system voltage is a stable 13.8 V, measured directly with a multimeter.
Measuring between IN+ and Orion GND gives the lock-out value. But between IN+ and chassis ground, I get the correct system voltage (13.8 V).

This suggests the Orion is either not referencing real ground correctly or simply not measuring actual input voltage anymore.

  • The charging current never exceeds 2–5 A.
  • I performed a full power reset (both input and output disconnected) and checked all cables — nothing changed.
  • The unit was working fine earlier, and I suspect this started after a firmware update, but I can’t be completely sure.

Has anyone else seen this behavior?
Is there any way to roll back to a previous firmware version for testing?

Thanks in advance for any insight or confirmation — I’d like to avoid replacing the unit if this can be fixed by firmware.

EDIT: The current firmware version on the device is v1.12.

Best regards,
Antti
