I’m new to the Victron system and currently have connected to shore power however it doesn’t look like the batteries are charging. I am connected to a 30 amp plug have changed that on the Victron cerbo screen. The screen basically looks like the picture included and not sure what I need to do to get the shore power to feed battery back to 100%
I’ve encountered this myself in the past when trying to charge them on the generator. The last time I did it I shut down everything, waited about a minute and turned everything back on. That resolved my issue and it started charging again.
You mean, you completely shut down the power system altogether and rebooted?
Your system has triggered a storage charge.
Maybe disable storage (no.5)?
Have you looked at using wind solar priority? Its a nice way to charge on demand.
Double check your battery settings in your battery monitor. I’m guessing your battery monitor hasn’t fully synchronized. Please provide more information on your battery and battery monitor setup.
Great, you are using a Lynx Shunt for a battery monitor. What is the voltage, capacity, and type of batteries you are using? Please show us the settings you have configured on the Lynx Shunt.
Now go into Settings and send us the settings. With sincere respect, have you reached out to the dealer who sold your equipment and asked for guidance?
Thanks for your responses Ed. I had the van built with a builder in Ohio. I met the Victron team at a the overlander southeast expo and quite honestly was disappointed in how little interest they had in teaching me the basics of the system. I will go back to the expo this year and be more persistent. .
Included in this message are the pics of the settings. Last night I unplugged and plugged back in this morning and seems like the AC shore power ( 30a) is charging the battery. ( see last pic) your help and guidance is appreciated! Thank you!
Ed, just went back out to the van and now in float mode.
You still haven’t told us what the voltage, capacity, and type of batteries you are using. I’ve gleaned you’re running a 12V battery bank from the settings. Your charged voltage setting looks a bit low to me, but I don’t know what batteries you are using or what your charger settings are.
Victron isn’t going to teach you the basics. They rely on distributors or installers to do that. If your van builder isn’t helping you then find a better installer. Where are you located?
Ed, here you go w both a few pics and I hope this helps. Thanks again for your help and I am in North Carolina.
Try changing the “charged voltage” to 14.2V in the battery bank settings of the Lynx Shunt. However, without knowing your charging profile it’s just a guess.
Thanks Ed. I will give that a try….
Yes, you should have some shut-offs that turn off the multiplus and d/c power. Also unplug your cerbo gx and plug it back in.
