I’ve got a Victron install in my van (done by myself) which includes a Multiplus 3000va 12v, Orion XS, Smart solar MPPT, Lynx power in, smart shunt, and a 300ah lithium battery.
Its been up and running now for maybe 4 months and everythings been fine, infact i’ve been really pleased with it. I’ve not used shore power (or EHU as we call it in the UK) until today, and with the leisure battery at 94% and the multiplus on its not been charging the leisure battery at all. It says its pulling 18w only from the grid.
Initially i though perhaps the SOC of the battery was out and it was in fact fully charged, but the smart shunt is reading bang on what the BMS is saying.
Has the multiplus gone into storage mode? What do i need to do to get it to charge properly from the grid?
I hope this is enough info, ive attached a few screenshots from the VRM portal which might be helpful. Ignore the ‘equalize’ activity on the VE.Bus state, started that by accident!
Possibly im missing something here, my multiplus isnt visible in the victron connect app as it doesnt have bluetooth. I have it hooked up to a cerbo but i cant seem to find any sort of charger overview in there…
Ah yes i can see similar to you, but theres no charger settings anywhere in there like @Netrange mentioned
Ive done some reading and i think i need to either access the multiplus via VE-config, or by the VRM remote console. I havent got the ve-config interface for my laptop but should be able to access via the VRM remote console… however despite it all having it enabled (via the Cerbo GX) it just fails to connect in the VRM.
Ive got a touch 50 display so can see it all but you cant view or edit any charger settings in there.
In the VRM , under device list if i click on Remote VE Configure, it finds the multiplus and gives me the option to download the config file, but when i click download it hangs up on ‘init’ then gives this error:
Now im getting somewhere, opened up the file in VEConfig and the multiplus was inteed in storage mode. I’ve now enabled the charger and given it the default LiPo4 profile:
I have a 300ah Lipo4 battery and have checked the manufactureres recommendation, the absorption and float voltage are definitely good, however for absorption time they recommend 30mins for each 100ah… Im unable to input 1.5, it just defaults to 2 hours - So would 1 or 2 hours be best in this case?
I also dont know what repeated absorption time and absorption interval are… if anyone know if these settings are appropriate id be keen to hear!
