Non-admin access levels to the Remote console and Connect app

Could we let certain non-admin people to access remote console like in the VRM, without letting them change the settings?

While you’re at it, also the Connect application. I’ve shared pictures of it, but might as well let them in with limited access rights.

VRM already has user accounts tied to given sites and their access levels.

You can already do this via the “Settings==>users” panel in VRM, they can either be “user” or “technician” or “admin”.

Can non-admins open remote console?

No. All users can do is:
– see the dashboard
– Advanced, Device List – read only
– Alarm rules – only for themselves
– Users – read only
– Notes and photos – read only
– Alarm/event logs – read only
– Diagnostics – hidden
Technicians can do anything except:
– Users – read only, except self
– Can’t delete installation or replace GX device
Admins can do anything

Hey all,

What’s coming in the near future is that people with the VRM user access level, ie read-only, can open gui-v2 but not do anything.

Is there more that you need after that?

Can those access levels be expanded to Connect app in mobile devices?

Yes most likely they can; I’ll keep it in mind

One addition, since I remember now: ofcourse this can be done, but does need quite a bit of rework inside VictronConnect: and we have some exciting other ideas: adding read-only into VC will most likely take quite a while

Imo the gui-v2 is more important, I brought Connect up because thought these would be realated and have needed that in the past as well.
