Hello-
I have 3 LifeBlue batteries I am trying to connect to a Cerbo GX. I’m unable to get Cerbo to recognize the batteries and show their SOC in the display.
My steps:
All batteries off
Connect #3 Line in to #2 Line Out
Connect #2 Line In to #1 Line Out
Connect #2 Line In to #1 Line Out
Batteries on.
Reset Battery #1 using run/alm button for 10-12 sec until all three battery lights cycle lo → hi and then show charge level.
Connect #1 Line In to BMS-Can port
Cerbo is already on. I rebooted it, but still no SOC. There is no obvious sign in any display screen or setting that the batteries are connected.
The Settings > System Setup > Batteries screen is set as follows:
Battery monitor: Automatic
Auto-Selected: No battery monitor found
MultiPlus-II 12/3000/120-50 2x120v: Idle
Going in the Battery Monitor screen gives me an option of Automatic/None/Multi-Plus
In short the signal is not being received.
This can be for 3 reasons
The battery does not send information to the correct registers for Victron to use.
The can cable is wired incorrectly
The can bus speed is not correct. (Some batteries are 500 some are 250)
We can help with some experimental help…
On your battery side I do not know what your can h and l connections might be. They could potentially be one of the two in the victron manual. That you will have to find out. Check with the manufacturer if they are even advertising as compatible with victron.
On the gx they are 7 & 8 see the manual here for the two standard cables for the battery compatible list.
You should be able to select the ve bus as the battery monitor if you enable the monitor in the inverter settings.
You could check the CAN Port for communication.
Go to Setting → Services
now select the CAN Port and see if any packages are comming through.
If not, prob. wired wrong or like LX said CAN Bus speed is not correctly set.
I always check this setting first.
If this is done right and you see some packages in reciving and sendung its prob. what Marc said and the battery is not supported.
Maybe one’s able to connect the batterie with something like NodeRed if the BMS of the battery has a WebUI
You need to contact the supplier or manufacturer of these batteries for help.
If they say it works with victron, they should be able to provide detailed instructions for the configuration.
This is the policy for batteries that aren’t on the tested/supported list.
