My multiplus (12/3000/120) occasionally resets its charging current to 0 amps. I then need to use the usb interface to set it back to a normal value. This is pretty annoying as this means you have to open up the unit and remove the UTP cable which is very difficult to reach even more due to the fact the locking lip of the cable is on the rear side with only the smallest part of it protruding out of the socket.
The lights indicate it is charging.
The multiplus runs on 209 firmware version (latest for this model) and is connected to a ekrano gx.
Although Victron promised it will fully integrate into the gx system, it cannot. VDCC does not work only status and power (12V and 230V) are relayed to the GX.
There are no assistants programmed as the Victron bms assistant does not work and gives a low battery error. (You need FW 4xx for this)
Does anyone have a clue what resets the charging current value or what triggers this?
Re the cable issue: Yes these are difficult to remove on the Muliplus compacts. However, there are 2 sockets, so a spare cable could be permanently installed, or the VE bus cable removed from the GX - which you would need to do when using the Mk3 and VE configure.
DVCC only works when there is BMS input to the GX device. (I think). Normally the current and voltage limits are passed from the BMS to all chargers by the GX (Venus) device when DVCC is used. If DVCC is enabled wiht no BMS connected, then this could possibly be the cause of the random current set to 0.
Hi Mike,
Thanks for your help, I have a lynx bms connected to the Ekrano gx. Ekrano also controls Orion dc dc charger and 2 mppt solar chargers.
The manual for updating a multiplus says that everything except the loose control panel should be disconnected when doing an update of the multiplus, this is not necessary if I interpret your answer correctly?
