Multiplus not inverting due to "voltage sense error"

I recently stepped into the realm of Victron and are building an RV setup for my trip.

However, I’m experiencing some issues with my build;
After turning on the Multiplus in the “ON” possition, the Cerbo starts beeping and the error presented is: “Voltage sense error”.
The “bulk” and “absorption” buttons are blinking simultanously.
The Multiplus does not invert!

I have the following devices list in place:

  • Multiplus (1) 12/3000/120A (230V) - purchased second hand (connected through VE.Bus to Cerbo)
  • Cerbo-GX S
  • SmartShunt 500A (connected through VE.Direct to Cerbo)
  • Orion XS 50A 12V DC-DC (connected through VE.Direct to Cerbo)
  • WattCycle LifePo4 280Ah

My Multiplus is connected and has 13V supplied to its battery terminals.
I have no wires connected to the battery sense connections (and if possible I don’t intent to, if it is not required).

When enabling DVCC (and configuring to use the SmartShunt), and connecting to Shorepower (AC-IN) - the multiplus is charging and does 230V passthrough.
However, when the shorepower is revoked, the Multiplus doesn’t invert anymore.

I did use VE.Configure to setup the Multiplus for the Lithium battery profile.

Can someone assist me in what I need to look at?

Kind regards,

Mike

Probably a defective unit.

Check the dc voltage with ve.configure

And i believe its possible to set “ignore sense”

Thanks for your info.

DC voltage is measured as (practically as) none.

I cannot find the setting you are referring to.
Connecting the Voltage Sense block (at the bottom of the unit) with the input of the 12V be a viable workaround?

Or do I need to write off this unit? :face_with_peeking_eye: :cry:

In the charger section I have “disable v-sense”…

You are measuring 12.x volts at the 8mm connectors, all bolts tightened, nothing “black” in the vincinity ?

@Mikej0h
Did you do a firmware update on the inverter?

I thought I did, the Cerbo didn’t notify me about a new version.
VRM however did, went from 462 to latest just now.

As @LX mentioned, it seems my MP wasn’t updated, I just did that.
Will re-check and get back with the results!
