Multiplus II status incorrect on Cerbo GX

Just completed install of system purchased from Explorist.Life. Everything works from a power perspective. However, the multiplus status on the Cerbo GX does not display properly. The Cerbo says the multiplus is OFF despite the fact that it is on, it is inverting, it is powering 120v loads, but none of this shows on the Cerbo status screen. Multiplus stays on status OFF and AC loads are 0 despite powering the heat gun I used to lovingly reduce shrink tubing on all of my connections.

Any thoughts?

Hi @Squido85,

The most obvious suspect would be the VE.Bus cable between the MultiPlus and Cerbo GX.

Have you tried replacing it?

Are there any other components connected to the Cerbo GX?

Are they showing properly or is there some delay or other effects with them as well?

What version of VenusOS is the Cerbo GX running?

Only the Multiplus is connected via VE.Bus.

MPPT Solar controller shows on Cerbo. Orion does not show yet but is functional and confirmed via Bluetooth. I assume shunt is showing because I get battery voltage data. All are connected to Cerbo via VE direct. As far as cat 5/6 RJ 45 cable is concerned…I kind of tested it…I have a second cable for connecting the VE.Bus dongle to USB C.

This cable is known good as I used it/the dongle to edit battery settings on the Multiplus. I’m using Epoch batteries. I used the known good cable to connect to the second multiplus VE.Bus port to the second Cerbo VE.Bus port…no change occurred…but this test is suspect since I didn’t remove the existing cable. Not sure what would happen if you had two connections between Myltiplus and Cerbo.

As far as versions of firmware all devices were updated as they came on line. I will get specific versions in a moment.

Aaaaand it was the network cable. Removed both ends and used known good cable and voila…it is working. Now for some cable re-management…and getting the orion to show up…baby steps.
