Hey all, so I’ve got the Multiplus II 24V 3000 70-50 inverter/charger and I’m trying to limit the current intake from shore power. I’m setting the current input limit to 10A on the VRM app but no matter what number I choose, the Multiplus is pulling in about 2500W (~21A), which is tripping two different power sources I have for off-grid use (example, external battery bank that can’t go above 12A and a portable generator that can’t go above 15A). There is no AC load and only about 2 amps of DC load, but when the batteries are not fully charged this thing just goes full tilt to charge them back up. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks
Well I found the issue thanks to Blue Marine. Apparently it’s an uncommon issue having to do with the current sensor 3.5mm jack on the Multiplus. I’ve attached the release from Victron and step by step instructions on how to fix the situation - just shut down the device and plug/unplug any 3.5mm cable into the port, turn reboot. Hope this helps anyone having a similar issue!
