New user here. I have a problem charging with Honda EU30is and Multiplus II 5000, 230V. I adjust the max allowable current in Cerbo all the way down to 6A, however the Multiplus exceeds the max output of the generator within a few seconds after the charging session starts, and it trips the generator breaker fuse. I watch the Cerbo/BMV700 reporting increasing load past 3000w before the fuse goes, so clearly the Multiplus is aware that it is overloading the generator, and still it is allowing it to happen. The system is apprx 1 year old. Interestingly it worked as supposed in the beginning (charging with 10A), but not anymore, even if adjust the limiter down to 6A (I can not adust it any lower in Cerbo). I can not say that I am aware of any changes done to the system that may have provoked this, it worked one evening, and not the next. I have had phone-support from the supplier - software update, reset, adjusting max etc, but no success. The system is located in a remote off-grid cabin in Norway, so I have limited access and taking the Multiplus back to the supplier is a big task. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I did adjust the input current limit as you describe. All the way down to 6A, but the Multiplus still tries to pull 3kW from the generator, resulting in the generator tripping.
However, since my original post, there has been some development. The supplier, using the portal, did some adjustments:
Reduced charge current to the battery to 35A
Activated the ‘Accept weak AC input’
Removed the ‘Overruled by remote’ for AC input
I do not think she really expected this to work, but it did. The system now is charging with 1700watt. I had to leave the cabin, so no further experiments were possible. However, looking at the Cerbo screen while charging by generator, one can see that something is off (picure below). To the top left the generator is showing delivering -113W, indicating that power is going from Multiplus to the generator. However the battery at the lower left is showing the correct 1729W charge. The BMV700 is showing the same 1,75kW (second picture). Also; AC loads are shown as zero while running the generator, even though there are some loads. The third picture shows the status after I switched the generator off - loads are back.
