When I use two Phoenix ip43 50a chargers alongside Multiplus ii to recharge my lithium battery bank through genset, both Phoenix chargers fail with #18 overcurrent error. When I only use two of them, without multiplus II, they work fine
Reducing current to about 30amp each improves the situation, but they always balance on the edge of working and failing.
I am assuming that it is tripping from existing large current flow on the wire, so I am considering installing 55AMP diodes on the output of the Phoenix controllers to make it stop. Thoughts?
I don’t think so. My 1200ah bank should be able to absorb way more then 220A. My bank is not managed by Victron bms. Is there a configuration somewhere that sets this limitation?
I’m surprised that this charger can go overcurrent - not a CC/CV type?
from the manual:" if maximum rated charge current is excessive, enable low current mode " Try this - ok so it defeats the point of having 50A chargers, but just for test.
Also, can you post the VE connect status and graph screens from the charger when the error occurs?
