After updating the firmware of the multiplus compact 12/2000/80 from firmware 2608154 to 2608459, communication was lost to the Cerbo GX (firmware 3.73). Another try was made to update to 2608433, also failed
How exactly did you perform the update? I assume by using an Mk3 adapter, since you were able to do another update while communications to the GX was lost. How did you connect the Mk3 to the MP? By removing the VE.Bus cable that us plugged into the Cerbo? Make sure that you plug it back into the GXs VE.Bus port and not Canbus or ethernet.
Did you use VE.flash or VictronConnect for the update?
Whats the reason to chosse these exact versions and not the newest?
Try the 2608556 firmware. Also note you may receive a prompt, when you can access the system, to update MK2 / MK3 interface. Is the MP connected via an adapter to the Cerbo or just a single RJ45UTP cable?
Thank you for the reply.
During firmware update I have only one connection from the laptop via MK3 to the Multiplus, no other component connected to the Multiplus during that process. Multiplus switched to ON. Normal operation is a connection between GX to Multiplus and Multiplus to digital multi control.
after trying the newer versions, Multiplus can still not make connection. After reverting back to version 2608159, it worked fine. The VRM gives a warning:GX Error #48 DVCC with incompatible firmware: Warning
The VRM states:
The version 159 in the inverter currently is now too old for the vrm min version was like 426 if i remember correctly (but can use the older mk3 driver so it still talks to the gx) Hence the 1342 error from the vrm.
But the chip can take the newest firmware.so we just need to solve the comms there.
ok, then I need to try make sure to get the latest gx as well as the mk3 driver installed and check them once installed. The GX firmware version now updated to is v3.73. The MK3 version I used the one which is offered for download when opening the victron website., (v2.12.28) - VE.Direct/MK3 USB drivers
Not the mk3 one but the one on the gx itself. Usually that is an auto update.
For the GX what version did you update from? Maybe a frwsh install will help.
I am going to day this one is a head scratcher it’s normally not as painful as your experience has been.
