i have had it installed for over 10years with no issues but the victron agm batteries are getting old now and think its time to replace . but was thinking to upgrade to lithium type for more capacity .and lightest .how do i changet he charge settings .can it be done on dip switches or do i need a mk6 to usb adapter and downloaded software. i have a mppt70/115 20a solar unit and that looks like i can do via blue tooth . i have also purchased a cyrix li to replace my older cyrix unit .
ok i have ordered a lithium battery .so just need to know how to adjust the multiplus compact 12/1600/70a unit .what do i need to purchase change the settings .regards pete
well took a chance and ordered a mrk3 to usb adapter . which after messing about with drivers i managed to connect . and changed the settings for lithium .
i then changed the mppt settings to lithium and fitted the cyrix relay and new lithium battery which was at 40 % charge.
ist i monitored the solar charge rate which was about 4 amps . i then started the van engine and charging went up to 7 amps max . so not the silly figure i was told it would blow up my alternator . i then switched on the invertor and connected to mains charger was setting was set to max 70 amp . from 50amp it was before . charging said it would take 2.5 hours . inverter showed 6 amp shore amps draw max . disconnected and connected generator and charger when to 70amp charge and generator had no trouble supplying power . re switched to mains and charged batteries to 14.4 v charging dropped to 2 amp then lower.
stopped the mains supply and left on solar power . all in all it all seems to work no problem .
