Multiplus 2: "Active AC Input" switches to Disconnect in "Inverter Only" Mode

Simple ESS AC Setup, single phase with Multiplus 2.

Whenever the Device is set to “Inverter Only” Mode the Device Disconnects itself (Relay) from the Grid on AC1. For the mode “On” the Device is perfectly providing the needed power.

What needs to be done so that the “Inverter Only” Mode stays connected to the grid and covers the demand of the house based on the control loop using the grid meter?

Latest Firmware 3.70~32 (also roll backs to 3.65 and 3.64 show the same behavior)

You cant, for that it needs to be in on position, ess needs grid to balance

Why do you want it in inverter only mode, is it not working correctly in on mode?

Idea is to load the battery at noon on bright days to make use of the solar power which I otherwise would need to cut off for legal reasons (Germany).
So my thought was to switch to “inverter only” mode on the morning of sunny days (if panels do not deliver sufficient power it sould be backed by the reamining battery power in that time) and switch back to “on” and start charging at noon when the limiting would occur.

That is what inverter only means, it islands itself, similar to AC ignore.

Great, thats helpful. Thanks for clarification

Yes ess does that by itself if setup right, also you can use scheduled charging for more control over charging/discharging time periods
