I have an ESS system with Multiplus II with the whole house on critical loads. The only loads outside this are AC solar (with ET112 meter) and an EVCS.
Our grid has another ET112 meter at point of entry. The issue occurs when we set the inverter to inverter only or ignore AC mode.
When this is happening the Overview in remote console shows either the grid at 0w or exporting solar, as expected.
But in Brief view the grid shows - - as if it is cut off or we have lost grid connection, although we haven’t.
The reason I do this during the day is to guarantee we are exporting 100% of the solar generated, while also keeping the inverter noise to a minimum (it is very noisy when not in this mode, even though I have retrofitted rubber dampers and there is 12mm of rubber isolation between inverter and wall (15kva model)
Is there any way to fix this as it looks like the brief view is broken?
When you set the system to invert only it opens the AC relays and disconnects from the grid.
So the overview says disconnected and brief shows the dashes as the inverter is no longer connected to mains. If you click on the grid box it will still be able to show the internal/external meter’s voltage and frequency readings.
It would be better if the grid icon showed what the grid is doing.
At the moment we’re exporting 6345w of solar but the grid icon shows - -
Later when we charge the car we will be importing 6600w but the grid icon will show - -
The display looks broken to me. Illogical, dysfunctional, unintuitive.
It would be better if the grid icon showed what the grid was importing or exporting, as most people would expect, and for a “disconnected from grid” icon or message to appear elsewhere on the screen.
The display is built around the inverter’s view, that is how it is designed. If the inverter is off, missing or disconnected then you will be limited by what’s shown.
